Top 10 Best Beaches in Indonesia

As an archipelago country and located in tropical area/equator line, Indonesia has so many beautiful beaches. In the first part, i will list beaches that has pure white and soft sands. Actually, there are many beaches that are not mentioned yet in this post due to unavailability of pictures taken by me. I will add more beaches whenever i have my own pictures from my next trips although it is hard to list all beautiful beaches since Indonesia has the longest coastline in the world

1. Tanjung Bira

Tanjung Bira Beach

Tanjung Bira is popular for its flour-like white sands. It is located about 5 hours from city of Makassar.

2. Tanjung Tinggi Beach

Tanjung Tinggi Beach

Tanjung Tinggi has beautiful white sands beach featured with giant granite stones. This beach also popular because Laskar Pelangi movie took place here.

3. Peucang Beach

Peucang Island Beach

Ujung Kulon is a conservation area for the endangered Java Rhino. But, tourists are allowed to visit Peucang Island which has amaing white sands beach.

4. Semak Daun Beach

Semak Daun Island Beach

For those who travel Jakarta and search for white sands beach, just go to Semak Daun Island which is located at Thousand Islands (or Kepulauan Seribu in Indonesian language).

Segara Anak is a lagoon which is located in a conservation island called Sempu Island. People always compare this beach to Maya Bay in Phi Phi Island, Thailand.

9. Kelapa Island Beach  – Kiluan

Kelapa Island Beach at Kiluan Bay

Kiluan Bay is popular for dolphin sightseeing since Kiluan Bay is the home for hundreds of Hindian Ocean’s dolphins. We can also enjoying beautiful beach and underwater in Kelapa Island that is located about 10 minutes trip from Kiluan Bay.

 10. Putri Barat Island Beach – Thousand Islands

Putri Barat Island Beach at Thousand Islands

Unlike other beaches mentioned above, Putri Barat Island is managed by a resort hotel. It feels like having a private island here because visitors usually avoid resort island for its little bit expensive price.
